Piazza Umberto I, also known locally as Piazza Belvedere, is the main public square of Zafferana Etnea, a village perched on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna.
Its scenic terrace creates a striking encounter between volcano and sea. On one side, the view rises towards Mount Etna; on the other, the Ionian coastline extends towards Taormina and Syracuse.
The square’s position makes it a natural place to pause and take in the breadth of the landscape, with the village forming a considered vantage point between the mountain’s presence and the open coast.
Located on Via 2 Scacchiere, Piazza Umberto I is open to all and does not require booking.
